I didn’t intend to make a career of painting furniture, but as SERENDIPITY would have it, I just fell into it and ended up loving it. I was asked to paint a chair as a fundraiser and found that it was way too fun to stop there. The rest is history. Now friends bring me old furniture from garage sales, etc, or I stumble upon something with great possibilities just crying out to be “re-purposed.” My favorite pieces to paint are child-sized, but I also have a fondness for really rough primitives.

I usually begin with a rough plan for a color scheme, but that often changes…Hence the name “Serendipity Designs.” As for my style, I haven’t the foggiest way to describe it except “eclectic.” I range from a modified folk art to traditional rather country to funky garden style. I guess it depends on the piece itself or maybe the day.
